TXMomof4 Posted September 17, 2008 Share Posted September 17, 2008 I decided to cook vegetable beef soup for dinner tonight. DS (2 yo) *LOVES* to help cook. So, he's putting the veggies in the pot, opening and adding a can of 'smashed' tomatoes, helping put in seasonings, stirring it all up. I clean up, leave the pot on the stove and put away his helping chair so I can go get some other work done. About 5 minutes later, I realize I don't hear him screaming anywhere (it's kind of like a homing beacon on him). I go looking and sure enough, he's in the kitchen. He'd emptied out the spice drawer, pulled his chair out and was seasoning the soup some more. Luckily, it's just very oregano - ey soup. He hadn't gotten to the rest of the spices. He had found a container of grape tomatoes though. And smashed them. Repeatedly. All over the counter. He was standing there with tomatoes everywhere saying, "See, I mash matos!"
