momee
I don't know if we are gluttons or what but the vegetarian plan looks like what we would consider a snack, not a meal. I black bean burrito and some sugar snap peas, I think. Another meal rec is pumpkin minestrone soup and sliced pears. Again, looks like a starvation meal plan, lol. Even with a salad, my crew would still be hungry with just these. Would this fill your peeps?
cjzimmer1
nope no way. my 2 year old eats 1-2 burritos in a meal. my 7 year old eats 2 my 8 year old eats 3, my 12 and 15 year old eat 3-4 and my 17 year old eats 4-5. I on the other hand eat just one. My 12,15,17 year olds use servings bowls for their salads and we still have a meal with that.
Laura Corin
I think that would work for us. ETA: I wasn't able to see those particular meals, I signed up for the sample veggie menu, and the quantities looked about right. They say that the meals are under 600 calories, which roughly fits with our dinners, I think.
SparklyUnicorn
No. I subscribe to their regular plan, but I didn't end up liking it. Too many items nobody here likes eating.
vmsurbat
No. Several years ago I got a free 3-month trial subscription and I thought the meals generally lacked both substantialness and roundedness. I found their recipes (both in style and in quantity) to be geared to those wanting/needing a lighter-style of main meals the vast majority of the time. I also discovered that while an individual dish might be good, I didn't care for the overall plan due to their self-imposed limitations of only 20 items. That really limits the scope of meals all week--often for no good reason. They had, to my mind, weird side-dishes/meal combos because of the 20 item restriction..... It is not more difficult to buy 3 different side veggies rather than 2, or 3 fruits rather than 2, etc. and use them up if you have a plan to use them.
