Wheres Toto Posted September 11, 2015 Share Posted September 11, 2015 Is there a DVR you can buy that doesn't have a monthly service fee but can record from our HD antenna and stuff we stream from Netflix or Hulu? Jann in TX Posted September 11, 2015 Share Posted September 11, 2015 We use Windows Media Center-- it is still available for Windows 8... we use and store recordings on an older computer. Works great for us. We schedule what we what to watch/record and then go back at our leisure to watch-- and can FF during commercials. You can't use it to record Netflix or other paid services though. We have a dedicated 'media room' and have a projector and 8ft screen... using the antenna gives us MUCH better resolution than DISH or DirectTV ever did (we are out in the boonies so no cable for us!).
