Looking for Spelling and Phonics

Hi! I am looking for a spelling and reading/phonics program for my sons who are almost 6 and almost 8. We haven't really been concerned with grade level so much as just going at their own pace, so I don't know exactly grade wise where to place them. My older son can read small words and can sound a lot of words out on his own. He still needs help with some vowels and hasn't learned all the spelling rules yet. My younger son cannot read yet. He is learning all the letter sounds still. He is pretty motivated to learn though. A Christian curric would be a plus. Thanks!

Spalding. :-) The manual for the Spalding Method is the Writing Road to Reading. Spalding would be everything you need for English skills: reading, spelling, penmanship, capitalization and punctuation, simple writing. And you'd do the same thing with both of your dc at the same time.

Spelling Power (once you get used to it) is fabulous. My kids BEG for spelling tests! Bonus: it's one book that will last all kids, all levels through high school. Now for reading/phonics we started with Bob Books/Reading Reflex which were great, but never knew where to go from there. So I'll follow for suggestions too.  :001_smile:
