Rosie_0801
At this age? Start with nursery rhyme clips off Youtube! It sounds like you want 'Living Memory' by Andrew Campbell.
73349
We started with short proverbs in K and worked up to some poetry and other things in 1st. I recommend including facts like your home address and phone number if your child doesn't already have those down. We like the book Poems to Learn by Heart, which is nicely illustrated. Many of the later first-grade selections I have listed came from it.

Guest lisashinn
We have really enjoyed the CDs by Holly Dutton on the Westminster Shorter Catechism. They're all songs and the kids catch on quickly! http://www.amazon.com/Westminster-Shorter-Catechism-Songs-Vol/dp/B00320J86C/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1439308843&sr=8-14&keywords=westminster+shorter+catechism
