Alicia64 Posted June 28, 2015 Share Posted June 28, 2015 Hi Everyone, I have quarterly bug perimeter people come out so even though I'm in a southern state, we don't have a real bug problem. So my question is: what do you do to keep your backyard deck and furniture clean and usable. Do you go out daily and sponge everything down? Once a week? I feel like my question is silly but for some reason I just don't have a great idea about keeping the deck eating-friendly. Even though there aren't a lot of bugs, I still had one practically fly into my eye the other evening. It just leaves me wanting to run indoors. And I want to enjoy the deck on cooler mornings and evening. I wish it were screened-in, but it's not. We have plastic white Adirondack chairs and our table is painted metal with painted medal chairs. Plus we have a big, faded red umbrella. The table and chairs were black, but I painted them white so bugs couldn't hide on them. I hate bugs. Any tips are very welcome! Guest Posted June 28, 2015 Share Posted June 28, 2015 We just sweep and spray everything off with water occasionally. I wouldn't say we get a ton of bug buildup, even having an immense mosquito population in the summer. In California my parents did the same. KungFuPanda Posted June 28, 2015 Share Posted June 28, 2015 I don't sweep. I use an electric leaf blower and everything is 'swept' in about one minute. I also don't have white stuff outside. I painted the adirondack chairs blue and I have a black metal bistro set.
