carolinagirl710
Good afternoon, all, I am teaching a Advanced Bio class this year and after looking through the labs, I am not to impressed. So I am interested in other lab ideas - if you have any ideas, please let me know. Thanks so much! Elaine in PA
SusanAR
A few weeks before school, I became a bit unsure of the rigor of Apologia, so I checked out Kolbe's A & P course which uses the Hole's Anatomy and Physiology text. From what I could find out, they depend largely on virtual labs. I also downloaded one of the chapter's of the Hole's text, and compared it to Apologia. After I got past the conversational style and lack of visual appeal, I decided to stick with Wile. We will be doing doing the multi-media companion, the anatomy coloring book, the dissections (eye, heart, and fetal pig) the slides, and typing. I added the quarterly tests and, all in all, it makes for a very full year. This is more than I did in my college A & P class. (Well, we did have to identify all the bones of a dismantled skeleton.) My ds did several dissections last year- Including the shark, so I think we will be ok. Susan
8filltheheart
I don't know anything about Apologia's advanced bio, but when when my ds did anatomy and physiology they spent a significant amount of time on a cat dissection.
