Jaybee
I think ds would benefit from a weighted blanket, but he is hot-natured. I hesitate to spend the money on one only to find out he can't sleep under it because of the heat produced. What do you think?
73349
Ours is. Not only will DS not use it, even I can't.
Jaybee
Thanks. That's what I was afraid of.
dsmith
We have blankets made with river stone and they do not make ds overheated. He is also hot-natured. I have tried it at night for restless leg and I didn't have a problem either, even with my monstrous night-time hot flashes. At first they are quite cool. We purchased a few blankets from Salt of the Earth, and they are very well made. We've had them for over 6 years.

I know I could google, but I would like to know which specific ones work for you. Thanks.

Thanks. http://saltoftheearthweightedgear.com/index.html I can't remember the weight we have for ds. His therapist at the time gave us a recommended weight. His sensory issues are a lot less now, and he still uses the blanket although he is a lot bigger now. He doesn't use it every night, but when he does he uses a sheet or blanket underneath, so it doesn't need frequent washing. We wash in our top load washer, not the front load. We hang to dry, flipping it over at some point. Dh has one too, and it has also held up very well. He uses it on top of a quilt and down blanket, but he hasn't been using it lately. They also do the poly beads, but I think they may hold in heat more. We have the river stones in both blankets.
