TeacherZee
Thinking of delving a bit deeper into Scottish history and wondered if anyone could give me some book recommendations? Thanks!
OneStepAtATime
Well, I have had a hard time finding a book that shows a good overview of history/culture etc. Either there are just a bunch of battles, or the book is huge and way too detailed to keep the overall picture in mind or, as with two books in particular, there was rather extensive bias against Scotland. Hopefully someone else will chime in with better knowledge. I'm interested, too. :)
Laura Corin
This is a spin-off from a BBC series. I haven't read it, but it might be okay. The author is a Scot. L
Momling
I read "Scotland, a very peculiar history" vol I and II by Fiona MacDonald with my daughter (then 8 year old) and learned a lot. Its not enough for a deep study at high school age, but I really enjoyed it.
