I am not sure blood calcium shows anything about bones because I think the body pulls calcium out of bones when it needs more to keep the rest of the body in equilibrium. You might consider a bone scan to see what shape your bones are in since a hip fracture is unusual when you are young. For exercise, you can check out things like chair aerobics. There are programs for seniors that allow the participant to remain seated and still get some exercise. You can probably find some on You Tube or invest in a DVD for the next 8 weeks.
