RoughCollie
I've been saving the store-bought bread wrappers to use when I make bread. Is it safe or should I wash them first? Thanks, RC
kokotg
I reuse them. Assuming I'm going to put some other bread product in them, I usually just shake out the crumbs.
klmama
I think it is, as long as you put the food on the inside of the bag. The paint on the outside might not be okay if it rubbed off on your food while inside out. Wasn't there something about lead in the paint on bagel bags a few years ago? GailV
My mom did this for years. She's nearly 80 and in good health. So, anecdotal evidence in our family gives it a :thumbup1:

Janet in Toronto
The only time I wouldn't reuse a plastic bag is if the old bread had any hint of mold on it. Otherwise, go for it! Janet
