klmama
One of my dc wants to have a website, even though has never learned to code. Is that possible? Any suggestions for how to go about this would be much appreciated.
idnib
How old is your dc? I would have a different answer for how to go about it if dc is 9 vs 16, for example.
idnib
And is dc's interest in learning to code/run a web server, or just getting content out on the web?
klmama
This is a teen who wants to get content out on the web.
ElizabethB
Both my websites were made without me writing a single line of code! Freeway express. It is like power point, except the buttons are different, you need to learn new buttons. They have good tutorials and forum support, though. http://www.softpress.com/freeway-express/ I made my thephonicspage.org and 40L.org websites with it. I also really like my web host, Hosting Matters.
idnib
I would recommend looking at http://wordpress.org/ and http://www.dreamwidth.org/ . Both are pieces of software which you can download and use to make content. You can then upload the content to a hosting service, a place running a web server, which will distribute your content to web browsers. Alternatively, you can get a hosted service for either of them. (This is easier.) For that, someone hosts the software for you on their web server and you can use it to create and present your content. lailasmum
WordPress is easy but if they want to learn more then Team Treehouse is great it's a subscription site with various different design courses.
