King Lear and Tartuffe--suggestions?

Recommended Posts

Does Patrick Stewart speak with a Texas accent in that? I'm trying to imagine that, and I can't quite do it.

I don't remember the accent. I do remember being very impressed. The biggest thing was that the setting conveyed to me the graspiness of the other daughters in a way that I didn't pick up as well when I was just reading it.  (Or even when I saw it on stage in a more traditional setting.)

For me, it was a setting that clicked.

I love the Patrick Stewart version of Lear set in the Texas hill country. It's called King of Texas.

We'll have to check this out--I love the hill country, Patrick Stewart, and Shakespeare!  Sounds like a trifecta of awesomeness.
