mommymonster
I just had an opportunity to do some technical writing, which I haven't done in, well, decades. What is the realm of reasonable hourly rate for a short-term, rush technical editing gig? High tech industry. Pacific Northwest part of the U.S., if that makes a difference. Thanks, folks/
Laurel-in-CA
Ha, if you find out, tell me!! I'd love to get back into it freelance.
kbutton
Does STC still publish salary surveys? Maybe that would be helpful in this situation. The last time I worked, I probably undercharged since they weren't paying benefits, but I had no plans to continue working, and they made sure they did my paycheck in such a way that I wouldn't have to figure out anything weird on my taxes. G5052
When I've done that type of thing, I charge at least $50/hour. With a short deadline, maybe even more?
