Mood changes with singulair in adults?

Years ago there was evidence that singulair could cause temperament shifts in adolescents. I am facing the decision about taking it myself during this horrible allergy season. I'm wondering if anyone here has taken singulair as an adult and experienced anything like that?

I am approaching pre/menopause and sure don't need to add anything to unbalance my mood in addition to the normal shifting hormones. I am not asthmatic, so it's not an issue of being able to breathe, but my ears full with fluid and nothing has been great for reducing that this year. I think it would help reduce my histamine reaction but I'm not excited about taking anything that might make me moody.

DS took Singulair  briefly.  I was told to give it to him in the morning because it could make him "hyper" and if given at night, it could interfere with his ability to fall asleep.

My friend's DH was on Singulair year-round. She wanted him to switch to something else because of the "hyperactivity" it caused him.
