amyc78
I've always heard such great things about A Child's History of the World and I was so excited about starting it as a read aloud with my kids. I've tried really hard to like it and I just don't! My kids actually don't mind it- DS7 even requests it but I just don't care for it… Am I the only one? Mrs. A
I didn't really care for it either. I'm not sure I gave it a fair chance in all honesty, but I just didn't want to continue once we started.
boscopup
I liked SOTW better. I briefly checked out CHOW from the library, and it was the old version, which has some issues anyway, but yeah, it didn't speak to me.
Ewe Mama
I tried to use it several times and for some reason it rubbed me the wrong way. It was even the updated version from our Sonlight days.
MerryAtHope
I used Mystery of History instead.
lifesadream83
I like it. I think its best to break thechapters down further for a younger kid. It also helps to have the lesson planner and workbook for the enrichment activities, intro, questions and review. It is written for a forth grader. It clicks with dd much better this year than last. I liked SOTW better for the littles though.
Mommy22alyns
Nope, SOTW is way better! Rebecca hated CHOW with a passion.
...................
SOTW is better as a read aloud. CHOW is better for kids 10 and under to read to themselves. :) it's not as detailed and a lower reading level and therefore it isn't going to appeal to adults the way it does to kids. lexi
I found it boring. We much prefer SOTW
Guest
We did not care for either SOTW {sorry, Susan.} or CHOW. Just not for us.
