Mynyel
Is there any? We are lookning (SIGH still, rentals are gold up there) to move to NW PA. My daughter is in debate now and is thinking to continue next year. I also would like to get my son into speech and/or public forum debate. Does anyone know? Ethel Mertz
Rachel - I grew up in NW PA. I have family there, but haven't lived there myself since I was 20. Have you tried any of the local listserves? Are you looking for homeschool debate teams or public school based debate teams?

Have you tried any of the local listserves? Are you looking for homeschool debate teams or public school based debate teams? I would prefer homeschool based but would be willing to look outside that at all groups. Maybe I would just need to start one?! :)
Ethel Mertz
Starting one would be a great idea!
grovegirl
There is a speech and debate club called Western Pennsylvania Christian Orators. They meet in Grove City, Pa. Here is there website. http://www.wpaco.com
FourOaks
Check out www.homeschoolworks4u.com on April 15th or after for the new schedule of classes. There will be a speech class and a debate class offered in which students are STRONGLY encouraged to compete in either NCFCA or Stoa tournaments, but they get the coaching online -- which may be just what you need if there are no clubs around your new location. If there is a Stoa tournament anywhere within driving distance, your kiddos can compete.
Kathy in Richmond
Here's a listing of homeschool support groups by county in PA. I bet that if you sent some inquiries, someone from the area where you're looking to move could help you out. Like Ethel Mertz, NW PA is where I was born & raised, but that was years & years (& more years!) ago. Hope your move goes well & that you like it there!
