Looking for schools with private/single dorm rooms for freshman

I know Union College in Jackson, TN offers all private/single dorm rooms.  Are there others?

A lot of schools are designing new housing with single rooms surrounding a suite area.

I assume most schools will provide singles with certain medical requests (I know people who have gotten medical requests for singles at James Madison Univ and at William and Mary)

Considering that most colleges do have some singles available on a limited basis at least, I'd approach this differently and first figure out which schools your student is interested in, and then ask about the availability of a single room.   As was mentioned, medical reasons make this request likely to be honored, but outside of that, it's probably a small percentage chance wise.   Some honors programs may have more singles available, so you can check into that as well.

At Virginia Commonwealth Univeristy the honors dorm is all singles. So freshman in the honors program can have a single.  My daughter did last year.

All of the schools we visited had single rooms (usually within a suite or apartment) as an option for freshman. Often this option came with a higher price tag.
