Loowit
I have a question about skipping a level. My DS who is 11 is very good at math. He is learning some new stuff this year, but I am not sure he is really being pushed enough and is getting bored. I was thinking about skipping the 6th grade book next year and moving straight into the basic mathematics book. Has anyone tried this? Would he miss out on too many new concepts if I did this? I thinking I could try it and move backward to the other book if he struggles too much, but I was wondering if anyone had tried this and what their experience was. KrissiK
Are you doing A Beka math already with him? Or are you coming to A Beka from another curriculum? If you are coming to A Beka from another curriculum, then I might not try it.
Freckles
He would probably be fine. Just compare the scope and sequence so you don't miss anything.
