La Texican
We just watched "Legend" with Tom Cruise. Why does sunlight destroy the Goblin King, and fire doesn't when it has light too? Is it because the sunlight is bigger?
Wheres Toto
UV rays?
trulycrabby
Okay, I'm guessing, but could it be because goblins originate from the underworld and thus never were exposed to uv rays until they moved to the surface?
La Texican
Cool! Here comes a lesson on the sun! He was all like, why does sunlight destroy him if his house is made of fire? I'm clueless, so he had to answer his own question with "because the sun is bigger." I was stumped. I wanted to say because the sun helps us and grows plants, but then I rembered fire does help us a lot too. UV rays, learn something new every day. mommymilkies
I love that movie! It was my favorite as a kid (with the Goonies and Legend, of course). Yes, I assume it was more because sun=goodness sort of thing. Sort of like how vampires and sunlight don't mix. But I never thought about it scientifically.
La Texican
Ugh, me too. It was obviously about love and goodness and unicorns and all that. Why look at all that beautiful movie and say, but how did the trap work? (Obviously with mirrors, weren't you looking?) Did not realize we'd find a science lesson in our cuddle movie about goblins, and princess, and unicorns. Welcome to the wonderful world of homeschooling, huh? And you guys here with the answers. I love it!
