Favorite Read-alouds of all time :-)

Recommended Posts

I am assuming novels:

Dominic by William Steig {many readings}

The Ordinary Princess by M.M. Kaye {might be out of print. I always thought it would make a great Disney movie.}

The Hobbit and LOTR by J.R.R. Tolkien {classics!}

Just about anything by Roald Dahl {did not like The BFG or Witches or Matilda or The Twits}

Three Tales of My Father's Dragon by Ruth Stiles Gannett

The Reluctant Dragon by Kenneth Grahame

The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame

The Complete tales of Winniw The Pooh by A.A. Milne

Mr. Popper's Penguins by Richard and Florence Atwater

Half Magic by Edith Nesbitt {any of her books are excellent}

Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites by Chris Heimerdinger {I am not fond of the later series but love Books 1-4.}

The Best _________ Ever book series by Barbara Robinson {twaddle? maybe. fun? yep.}

The Secret Garden by Francis Hodgson Burnett

The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White {Son 3's favorite book. The first novel he ever read on his own.}

Charlotte's Web by E.B. White

The Complete Adventures of Homer Price by Robert McCloskey

The Harry Potter books by not really as read alouds

The Paddington Bear series by Michael Bond

Oh, was this supposed to be a short list? I missed that part.
