Night Elf
How does a portobello mushroom compare to a regular mushroom? I'm going to Applebees tonight and the plate I'm looking at has a portobello mushroom stuffed with a creamy white wine artichoke cheese spread. I'm okay with regular mushrooms but I don't think I'd like one that is strong tasting or more earthy.
Dandelion
Portobello mushrooms are my favorite mushrooms. They do have a stronger flavor and thicker texture than other mushrooms (that's why they're often used as a meat replacement in burgers, sandwiches, fajitas, etc.). The dish you described sounds wonderful to me, but if you don't like strong tasting mushrooms, you may want to choose something different. Or, give it a try. You might be pleasantly surprised. :)
happi duck
I find them very similar in taste/texture to white mushrooms. I think they're related. Enjoy your dinner!
