Kfamily
It seems both of my girls need instruction in the proper use of commas. I find this to be the most common mistake for both of them in their writing. :) I would really appreciate any suggestions for effective teaching methods or free resources. I do have some writing programs that I own and would love to be able to use, but they are still in storage. (We are still in home and life limbo...:()

Kfamily
Good idea! Thank you! ...Of course, I left their editing workbooks with my household belongings too...(could only take suitcases and some boxes sent ahead from Okinawa back to US)....I did notice that KISS Grammar has a new punctuation section and some of the worksheets involved editing practice. kbutton
Make sure they understand various types of phrases and clauses--then the rules become more about understanding and less about memorizing.
