Luvingmy4boys
I already have regular unifix cubes but I'd like to get some C-rods. I read good reviews about the wooden ones but I like the idea of the connecting ones. Is there a certain brand that is better quality than others? Is there a disadvantage to the connecting ones? maize
I actually like the plastic non connecting ones best. I have tried all of them and ended up getting rid of the plastic connecting rods.
Luvingmy4boys
Was it just preference or was there a problem with the connecting ones?
Monica_in_Switzerland
We have wood and really like them. I can't see any advantage to them being connectable. It seems like you'd waste time disconnecting them all the time. Besides, it's really only for basic addition that having them connect end-to-end might be useful. Farrar
Wood because the plastic ones bow out a little, which means that they're not perfectly sized. If you go with plastic definitely get the non-linking for the reasons Bill says in the linked thread - building staircases makes them look odd, you want to be able to manipulate them quickly, etc.
