bttrflyvld
Looking for recommendations for age 5-7 range. Favorites anyone?
TheAutumnOak
Animal Tales is my favorite for that age group...I have many others (we love Jim Weiss), but that one is my favorite...
chelsmm
My kids love the myths. There are two Greek, an Egyption, and a Norse, I think. Giants, Treasure Island, Fairy Tales, Gulliver's Travels, they are all favorites as well. Uncle wiggly is nice and gentle. Oh, Arabian Nights is great. It depends on your kids. Mine really love action and don't get scared easily. Some of these could be scary for a younger or more sensitive person.
TheAutumnOak
My boys also loved the myths (Theseus and the Minotaur is their favorite), and King Arthur...You really can't go wrong with the Jim Weiss CD's...My boys wish he could read everything for them ;)

sleeplessnights
We have a lot of them, but our favorite for that age is Just So Stories. The kids love "The Elephant's Child"!
KrissiK
We love Tom Sawyer, Treasure Island, and Robin Hood--/The Three musketeers.
Monica_in_Switzerland
Another vote for the Just So Stories read by Weiss. If you've ever tried to read them yourself, you'll be happy to delegate that task to him- they are tricky tongue twisters and he does them complete with voices and emotion. umsami
Probably not a popular opinion, but I find his voice annoying. Not sure why--but simply don't like it. Does anybody know of other good storytellers on CD/mp3?
Guest
All the years I've been on here and owned WTM, I've never listened to one of his CDs! I think I even have one - Tall Tales, maybe? I'm going to have to start that with the kiddos.
KAM
My dd5 likes Tall Tales and Robin Hood best. My boys at that age loved the Greek Myths one. I will admit, I find his voice annoying too, but the kids don't seem to mind.
chelsmm
umsami- not really a story teller, but a great reader of stories is Jim Dale. We love him here and can't get enough! Odds Bodkin is a really fun storyteller as well.
Gentlemommy
My kids like him, and so I buy the CDs, but I too find him annoying. I fact, I playfully read aloud to my kids imitating his voice and they get all giggly and roll their eyes. Lol
EmilyK
When my children were littles, the mythology ones mentioned above, Giants, and Uncle Wiggly were the favorites. We used them for listening before bed or to fall asleep by. For falling asleep, we really loved Good Night and Sweet Dreams. My husband would conk out before the boys. For older kids, we really loved Galileo and the Stargazers, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, The Queen's Pirate.
