JenneinCA
There are several park day groups in Palo Alto, at least two that meet in Mitchell Park. I think on Wednesday and Thursday? There are many other park day groups that might be a good fit too. It would depend on the ages of the kids and the method of homeschooling she uses. Resources are everywhere. What is she looking for? Ocean Grove is the most popular charter school that you do at home. This is a public school option, but you don't go to the school. Star tests required and maybe more. If you or your friend have more specific questions I can try to help. Welcome to the area.

HejKatt
The Yahoo group Bay Area Homeschool Field Trips - it covers a large area, but I commonly see posts from around Palo Alto. More groups here, including the Mitchell Park group Jenne mentioned http://californiahomeschool.net/about/supportGroups.htm#clara http://midpeninsulahomeschoolers.org/
