Perhaps Sequential Spelling? I liked that it didn't require a lot of repetition for the natural spellers.

I think there is an adult Sequential Spelling.

Logic of English has a free higher level list at her blog. She says if they've mastered that list, they should move onto roots.

Spelling is a fairly boring subject so I'm not sure what you can find out there that isn't dull. Scholastic has a workbook entitled "No Boring Practice, Please! Spelling" that is a bit more engaging. However I would consider it a supplement rather than a full program like AAS, LoE, Spelling Power, or Sequential Spelling.

We tried both Sequential Spelling and Spelling Power and both were too boring. Would LoE be overkill?

Yes, we've since dropped Sequential.  Mostly because of the strict teacher/student relationship and DS and I tend to be oil and water.  It was a source of too many fights.  I still think it has great lists for advanced learners, but we've dropped spelling altogether this semester and have switched to Wordly Wise for vocab development.  That seems to be working out better for us.  I think I am going to use the words as "spelling" words too, but this is only our first week....
