Best way to sell evening gowns?

I thought I'd see if you have any advice. I have 3 or 4 formal party dresses that were worn to formal weddings that I want to sell.  They're in perfect condition; nothing missing or torn or anything like that.

 

What's the best value for me in terms of selling them? Ebay? Local consignment?  I'm not sure where to start. The consignment stores seem to give 40%of what it sells for.

Do you have facebook? I've sold a TON of things through local "virtual" yard sale groups.

Hm, I've never even heard of those on FB.  I'll check it out.

Me either until recently! You join, post your stuff with pictures and people in your area contact you if they are interested. It's easy. Most people come to your home for the item too.

I second the FB groups idea - that's where I sell most of my stuff.

 

If that doesn't work - try eBay. Or a consignment shop.

 

If all else fails & you just want to get rid of them - call a local high school & ask if there is a prom dress program. I know here there is a group that collects used formals & then gives them to girls who otherwise couldn't afford to go to prom.

I've always thought ebay was the place for this stuff. I don't have experience with FB.

 

My community center does a whole prom give away thing every year a few weeks before the high school prom. Dresses, shoes, accessories. It's a great program.
