TMarie
My son tested into Saxon 76. If I had given him partial credit on the placement test for answers that were "almost correct," he would have placed in 87. I decided to give him the best foundation and go with 76. (He completed Bob Jones Math 5 last year.) So... by lesson 10 should he have learned anything new? He is B-O-R-E-D right now in math. Yet, I know it's very early in the book. :001_smile:
Melissa B
Generally, the first 30 lessons are review of the previous book. You could give him one exam per day until you come to new material (usually around test 5.)
kiana
I would let him test through.
...................
Yep. FIrst 30 lessons are always review. Ridiculously easy. Worth doing if you had a long summer and your kid is rusty. Otherwise, test out of them. Don't just skip them though. Only skip them if your son gets 80% or higher on the tests.
unsinkable
Remember with Saxon the subsequent problem sets expand upon the previous lesson material.
JoyceTWTM
Should Saxon 76 lessons #10 be extremely easy? Yes. And more importantly so should Lesson #30 :-)
TMarie
Thanks! I am going to give him the next test and see if he gets and 80%. .
