Jean in Newcastle
Ds16 and I are having major problems with inflammation and allergies. We are combatting that with a low-histamine diet. We love our breakfast green smoothie but many of our ingredients are out. Can you help me design a new one? Old recipe (off limits food crossed out): orange, banana, berry mix, kale Allowed are apples, apricots, berries (except for strawberries), cherries, dates/figs, grapes, melon, nectarines, peaches, pears, plum, pomegranate, watermelon No yogurt is allowed. pink&bluemommy
Can you have avocado? It may help with the creaminess you will be missing from the banana.

nmoira
Cucumber lends an interesting texture. I peel and seed.
NicAnn
Can you have parsley? I know it sounds strange, but fresh parsley is amazing in smoothies. Cucumber watermelon is a favorite here.

plath
I really liked peach and kale with or without blueberries.
shukriyya
This is our current fave :: frozen mango/pineapple, kale, fresh ginger peeled, coconut water, whole lime peeled and some ice cubes. Blend it all up.
Jean in Newcastle
Good suggestions. Thank you! I wonder if I could use a coconut cream in there?
shukriyya
In the past we've done a simple frozen mango and coconut milk mix.
plath
Coconut milk would be yummy, as is coconut water. I use water kefir in smoothies a lot.
