loftmama
Is there a source other than Netflix to get DVDs for school? (deleted)
...................
We never search on Netflix or iTunes with our kids. Even though we have our peramieters set to g, we knew it only prevents watching it. But, those kinds of movies won't show up in your suggestions, in your recently watched, or in the genres suggested for you. So therefore we have never had a problem. It's scary out there. You have to be a very wise consumer. But I heard of a Christian DVD rental site. Look for that.
stripe
Yikes! I keep coming across sites that claim to have tons of documentaries to watch for free online, and I don't know if they're legit! What about http://www.pbslearningmedia.org/ PBS LearningMediaâ„¢ is the go-to destination for instant access to tens of thousands of classroom-ready, digital resources including videos, games, audio clips, photos, lesson plans, and more! You can search, save, and share with ease. Best of all, PBS LearningMedia is free for educators.

stripe
topdocumentaries.com documentarystorm documentarytube watchknowlearn neok12 Yes, I think this is the sort of site I meant. Thank you! I am on the PBS site's mailing list and they had just sent me an update so were fresh in my mind. Even the regular PBS site has an awful lot of material available for online viewing, like Frontline episodes.

...................
You Tube is just as bad as Netflix as far as searching, FYI. What we do us subscribe and then go to favorites. We watch ViHart, SciFri, Cooking Essentials, Minute Earth, Minute Physics, and Veritasium
stripe
Unfortunately, internet is still not available in the part of the country where I live and since these are all streaming, I'll have to go to the library or my mom's. Wish I could watch them in the comfort of home, but love an excuse to see my parents! I will miss Netflix but I won't go back unless they allow pre-set parameters for general searches as Amazon does. I changed my Google search parameters to somewhat restricted. I was getting porn results for EVERY search! I can't really watch streaming videos either. I have internet at home but not very fast, but even worse for the past few months it can't seem to stay on for very long without resetting itself. Something is clearly wrong and it's driving me nuts! Don't some people ise Brain Pop, too? http://www.brainpop.com
SilverMoon
Blockbuster has a movie rental by mail program too. We watch ours on Amazon with a Prime membership. You have to buy a year at a time, but it's cheaper than Netflix in the long run. And you get free shipping for all Prime eligible products.
