Ellie
In my old age, I think I might have a nut allergy. Or maybe I'm overthinking it. I have noticed that when I eat Brazil nuts--my favorite--my tongue feels sort of funny, as if I have burned it on hot tea. Not bad, you understand, but definitely *there*. Recently, I feel that same way when I eat cashews and almonds--not sure if one or both is the problem, because they're in a tasty cranberry-raisin trail mix. Does that sound like a nut allergy? If so, do I talk to my doctor about allergy testing?
Spryte
Sounds suspicious to me. I would discuss it with your doc.
wapiti
I agree - sounds suspicious. FWIW, all of those are tree nuts (my ds is allergic to each of those and more).
Ellie
I just made an appointment. :-)
Karen in CO
Glad you made an appointment. My dd's nut allergy started with a funny feeling in her mouth. It continued to get worse although her initial nut allergy skin test was negative. She's now in the anaphylactic range for reactions. GL and please avoid nuts until after you see your doctor. PinkyandtheBrains.
I have a mild reaction to cashews. It has yet to show up in allergy testing. However, my doctor told me to avoid them so it doesn't become worse. He also said to be careful with other nuts. So far no other nuts cause the reaction. You could be having an Oral Allergy Syndrome reaction too.
