momofkhm
My son's first court of honor was Tuesday. He got Scout and Tenderfoot and I got corresponding pins. They seem nice and all, but what am I supposed to do with them? When would I wear them? Right now they are in my purse. They weren't awarded or anything - everyone was given their awards in a ziplock. Not very special but quick - one rank at a time. I guess when you have 100 boys in the troop, you do things quickly. We're new to the troop, but I can't say it was very special.
Susan in TN
I pin them onto a short length of dark blue ribbon and wear it at Scouting awards ceremonies, particularly if ds is getting another pin.
Mom in High Heels
They make parent ribbons, one for Cubs, one for Scouts that you can pin them to. I have one from Indy's Cub years that has Bobcat, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Web, an AoL on it, and a Scout one that has the new Scout pin on it (soon to include the Tenderfoot pin). I wear them to pack meetings and award ceremonies.
felicity
I've never known either. Mine are in my top drawer, except for one that seems to float around the house for some reason. I wish I'd known about the ribbon idea, that seems neat.
Tita Gidge
I like the ribbon idea! It makes perfect sense, and now I feel dumb that I hadn't thought of it already LOL. I don't even have each boy's pins separate from the others' ... they're all kind of thrown into a few ziploc bags that are in my "to get around to one day" pile. I should work on that, I guess. I should probably start their baby books first, though. I know they'll put on my headstone: She had such good intentions ... Sigh!
m0mmaBuck
I have the one on the far left: http://www.mothers-pride.com/ I wear DS's Cub Scout pins on the Blue and Gold side and DSS and DS's Boy Scout pins on the green and red. It goes over your neck like a necklace. I wear it with my Scout uniform during ceremonies and special events. DH wears this: http://www.scoutstuff.org/bsa/gifts-gift-cards/awards/ribbons/boy-scout-proud-parent-pin.html He has both of the boy's pins on it. I've seen several moms with them, but no one knew where they got them. I'd much rather have this! Ordering!
