Excelsior! Academy
I purchased Montessori grammar solids and symbols. I think I know the 9 parts of speech they represent, but the set I got has an extra pyramid. It is the color of the article and the size of the adjective. My set has 10 symbols. What is the extra symbol? Is it related to the adjective?

Excelsior! Academy
Great! Thank you! The middle blue one is the one I am not sure about.
wapiti
Well, unfortunately ds doesn't know either, and a quick google pic search came up empty. Sorry! Maybe see if there's a youtube video of someone using that work.

Dahliarw
I have never seen one with 10! I wonder if it's from a company that just doesn't know Montessori? Are those two blue ones identical? So strange...
AndyJoy
I found it! http://montessorialb...Grammar_Symbols The idea of non-descriptive adjectives is given at the 7-9 ages so the children recognize numbers (e.g. eight children, some children) and possessive pronouns (e.g. my friend, your friend) as adjectives. A light blue triangle, same size as the dark blue triangle, is used as the symbol for these types of adjectives. Non-descriptive Adjective Symbol Non-descriptive adjectives are given a light blue triangle that is the same size as the dark blue descriptive adjective symbol. Possessives are non-descriptive adjectives (her, your, my, our, their, club's, Lucy's, etc.) Numerical adjectives, definite (1000, 325, all, every, each, etc) and indefinite (some, few, several) are non-descriptive.
