savmom
a coil binding on a teacher's manual by yourself? It is similar to this: The center cracked and I can't afford to get it fixed (they want $15 at a local office supply store!). I do have a spare coil, is it possible to replace it myself? I was going to just try it but I'm worried I will screw things up  :tongue_smilie: Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice! BrookValley.
I've never done it without the help of a binding machine, which I have available at wiork. Sorry, no help, I know! Can you just pull the coil, punch, and put it in a three-ring binder? Not as nice, but perhaps an acceptable solution if you can't fix it by hand? acsnmama
Yes, you could just spin the coil in, like you do when you take it out.
elegantlion
You have to make sure the holes line up with the size of the coil, and that the coil itself is large enough to handle however many pages the book is.
AvasMom
Yep, just spin it in. I take mine off and on fairly frequently.
Tammyla
Yes, but don't take out the broken one. Just spin it a bit to free up a few holes. Then begin spinning / weaving in the new one a bit a time.
savmom
Awesome advice. I'm gonna try it in the morning. Hopefully I won't make too big of a mess :) Thanks for the replies, I really appreciate them!
