DragonFaerie
So, I was microwaving my lovely Marie Calender's lasagna for lunch. Single serving sized, I thought. I wrote down the calories and fat for my diet spreadsheet while it was cooking. As I was eating, I started thinking, wow, this is a lot of food for just 280 calories! Score! *sigh* When I finished ALL my food, I looked at the box again. Apparently my "single serving" of 280 calorie lasagna was actually 2 1/2 servings! Lunch was a whopping 700 calories! Grrrr..... And though the serving seemed like a lot for one, there is no way it would satisfy 2.5 people. Double Grrrr!!! Why do they have to be so deceptive on the product nutrition labels? Who can possibly count out exactly 2.5 servings from a pan of lasagna anyway? Argh! I guess that'll teach me to read the label more closely next time. Ottakee
They do this so you will buy it. They put the calories on the front in a NICE number (per serving in tiny letters) and hope you don't read closely.
Desert Rat
I hate that! A similar thing happened to me with lemonade at a convenience store. It said only 100 calories. Luckily I caught that there were 2 1/2 servings. Ugh.
