Mr Q Science questions

It says ages 8-12 for the classic courses. The information in the chemistry course (the basic one, not the advanced) looks fairly meaty for my sixth grader -- the kind of stuff I learned about in 8th, if not 10th, grade -- but the text itself and follow-up sheets seem like they'll be on the easier side for her. I think they'll be a good fit for my third grader, though, especially since I will probably read it aloud to everyone.

We are currently using Life Science with a 6 and a 9 year old. My 6 year old is retaining just as much as my 9 year old, but she doesn't do any of the worksheets. They are a lot of writing/reading for her and she's not ready for them. We will go over the definitions and things together and do some of the questions orally. That being said, and even though you didn't ask...lol...I don't feel that their retention is quite where I would like it and a lot of the topics just seem to make them glaze over. I find quite often that I'd like certain topics to be carried over for another week, as well. It's a very full program and hard (for me anyways) to find a way to slow it down. I am not 100% in love with the program, but I can't find one I like better either. We plan to use Earth Science next year but I want to add in books and hopefully increase retention.
