Who's going to tackle Thursday with me? - Updated Edition

Today's parent thread seems to have disappeared with the forum crash and reboot. How are things going for you?

 

Here is my progress:

 

Clean the kitchen done

More and more laundry 1 load in washer/dryer; 2 loads waiting to be folded and put away

Repair more yoga pants with holes

Vacuum out car. done

Shampoo trunk of car. done

Drywall stuff. Ds says done. We have to wait for some things to dry again.

Library? Find DVDs that belong in the cases. What overdue fines does Dd11 have? Ready to go to the library

E-mail college friend re getting together - this Saturday? e-mail sent

Zumba

Season new wok.

Stir- fry for dinner

 

Working on the car did me in. I was shaking with fatigue. After napping for over an hour I'm up but am still in a lot of pain. Fortunately the things left to do are not as strenuous.

DONE ~ Buy container for storing leftover wrapping paper

DONE ~ Buy container for dd5’s Barbies

DONE ~ Exchange dad’s jacket (Walmart)

DONE ~ Mail dd5’s slippers back to Zappos (they didn’t fit) (UPS Store)

DONE ~ Take dd8’s ice skates to be sharpened

DONE ~ Dh’s eye appt (2pm)

DONE ~ Laundry (3 loads)

DONE ~ Return books to library/pick up holds

 

STILL HAVE TO DO:

Menu plan for remainder of this month and for January

Take ds for a haircut

Measure and shop for new bookcase for ds’ room

Find new slippers for dd5

 

THINGS FOR DH TO DO:

Have dh clean out dehydrator and put away

Take down boxes for Christmas decorations so they can be packed back up later this week

Finish putting together ds’ game table

pack stuff for camping trip (he leaves tomorrow)

I'll participate. So often I don't think I've gotten anything accomplished but then when I list everything I see I did more than I thought. Let's see:

 

cleaned kitchen thoroughly

showered

took my son to oral surgeon to get wisdom teeth extracted

brought son home and made up bed on couch, got him ice

Ran to drugstore and got his meds

Came home and administered meds and otherwise babied him

made dd lunch

Made 12th grader work on his paper; chatted with him about it

took a 5 minute nap!

Read some of my book The Happiness Project

played with my crazy cat who needs socializing

made 14 yo do a load of laundry

started to organize my 11 yo dd's room - just cleared off her very junky dresser top

sent 17 yo to store with grocery list

made turkey divan with leftover Christmas turkey

 

Dh did a lot today. He took a half day from work and got not 1 but 2 cars to jiffy lube.

 

I still need to read aloud Cricket on the Hearth; we've not read that for a couple of days and it is our Christmas read!

Still need to clean kitchen after dinner.

Set everyone's alarms for 8:30 a.m. (keep forgetting!)

3:30 check in:

 

Library done

Grocery store done

Met neighbor at grocery store and agreed to let dd11 have a "playdate" (ie. babysit) her daughter in the morning at our house.

 

Next up: Put on steel wok to season. And repair yoga pants.

Today I

did 3 loads of laundry--all of it is folded and put away

cleaned the kitchen

cleaned the bathroom

made the bed

cleaned out the fridge

vacuumed

took down the tree and all Christmas decorations

went to the dollar store to get storage bins for the legos and lincoln logs

dh did the dusting--he also worked most of the afternoon

cooked dinner

kept the 2 year old entertained inside because it was freezing/raining here all day

5:30 update.

 

Wok is seasoned.

3 pairs of pants are mended. This was a lot harder than I thought it would be. But it's done!

The stir-fry is done.

 

Now to have dinner and go to my Zumba happy place.
