Penguin
Is anyone else studying Modern Greek? Just curious. Danish is our daily foreign language study, but my son also asked to study Greek. He went through the Greek Code Cracker workbook, but wants to move forward with Modern Greek rather than Koine or Ancient Greek. We decided to try Greek123 and the package arrived today. Exciting! lorisuewho
We did Greek school last year and Greek 123 was the curriculum they used. I thought it was a very good program.
Penguin
Lori, Thanks for letting me know that. I really like the looks of it, and DS is eager to begin.
Amy Jo
Care to share what you use for Danish? My ancestry is Danish, and I've always wanted to learn more of the language.
shadah
I have been studying Greek this year with Pimsleur, FSI, and other free courses online. It has been hard to stay motivated without someone to talk to.
Penguin
shadah: Thanks for mentioning the FSI course. I think that FSI courses are a great resource, but I had forgotten about them. I know that finding practice partners can be tough, depending on your community. mtcougar832: Are you more interested in Danish resources for yourself or for your children? Maybe both? I have TONS of info, and could review plenty of resources. Maybe I should start a Danish Resource Thread on the Bilingual Board.
Peplophoros
These are for the intermediate/advanced student of modern Greek, but they are awesome!! Greek podcasts with conversations about lots of things (going to the store, taking a train, etc.)...and free! http://www.hau.gr/?i=learning.en.greek-podcasts
mommymilkies
My oldest is using the Papaloizos books for kids. She wants modern, not Ancient Greek.:lurk5:

My children have done three years of Greek School and that is the program that they used with Rosetta Stone labs every other week as a supplement. It's a good program from what I have seen (I only know a few words and my children laugh at my pronounciation...they had native speakers for teachers).
