KungFuPanda
I just made the worst shepherds pie of my life. I tried to use up some leftover (uncooked) Denver steaks instead of my customary lamb. I chopped them in the cuisinart, but I fear they were too dry for this purpose. The sauce is too thin and I didn't make quite enough potatoes for the top. I'm kicking myself for not just making hash. Dd will be out at her homecoming dance and wouldn't eat it if it was good. Ds thinks Ramen is a fine meal. DH has a horrid cold. Do you think I'll get away with this or end up making a late-night food run??? I wanted REAL shepherd's pie! :-(
LaxMom
Snort. I hate meals that are cursed like that. I'm betting they don't notice, but you go out for a food run to have something that tastes like you imagine. Like cookies. ;)
Annie G
Usually when I have a dinner fail, I'm the only one who really cares. To the rest of them, it's just one mediocre meal. To me, it's time spent cooking, then cleaning the mess up, and I of course always think of how much the meal cost me. I hope nobody gives you any grief over it. KungFuPanda
They ate it. It tasted much better than it looked. Still . . . beef just isn't lamb. ::sigh:: I'm tasked with delivering two teens to the mall tomorrow. I'm soooo getting Chipotle.
QueenCat
What are Denver steaks? I've never heard of them.
