MIch elle Posted July 18, 2008 Share Posted July 18, 2008 We follow Calvert School PH series. In the past they did 2 in grade 7 (plus another book) and 3 in grade 8. This year Calvert School changed it to 5 PH books in each grade 7 & 8. Obi-Mom Kenobi Posted July 18, 2008 Share Posted July 18, 2008 We focus on science twice a week but only use the text 1 of those days. On "textbook day" we'll do the related activities found in the book. On the other day, we do additional science experiments and read other related books. This year is Chemistry and I'm really glad we've got the extra day each week to really dig into the subject and do fun experiments. LisaNY Posted July 18, 2008 Share Posted July 18, 2008 I would say 2-3 is the average. There are 4-5 chapters per book. We usually take one week per chapter at our house. We do science 4 days per week. We managed to get through 2 1/2 by the end of June. We had a few things going on during the year that got in the way of our schedule. Elm in NJ Posted July 19, 2008 Share Posted July 19, 2008 We do 4 or 5 a year. This year for 7th, we will do 5 since 2 of them (Motion and forces and 1 of the chemistry ones will be mainly review.
