We focus on science twice a week but only use the text 1 of those days. On "textbook day" we'll do the related activities found in the book. On the other day, we do additional science experiments and read other related books. This year is Chemistry and I'm really glad we've got the extra day each week to really dig into the subject and do fun experiments. Next year we'll cover 3 books, so the "textbook" time will pick up a bit more.

I would say 2-3 is the average. There are 4-5 chapters per book. We usually take one week per chapter at our house. We do science 4 days per week.

We managed to get through 2 1/2 by the end of June. We had a few things going on during the year that got in the way of our schedule. Without the interruptions, we would have easily done three.

We do 4 or 5 a year. This year for 7th, we will do 5 since 2 of them (Motion and forces and 1 of the chemistry ones will be mainly review. This year, we will not be using the workbooks although we have in the previous years.
