BlessedMom
I have a few questions about Horizons Math Grade 1 teachers manual. Is the current Teachers Manual spiral bound? Is the TM divided into two separate books? Does the TM include reproducible practice sheets & test? If so, are they separate sheets or made into the book? Can you purchase the practice sheets & tests separately? Did you find the TM helpful at this level? Thank you for your time.
Once
I never did buy the TM at that level. Horizon was usable just as the workbooks. That being said....our primary math is MUS right now so Horizon has always been for practice workbooks. This does not answer your questions but may help you understand that it is usable just as a workbook. :tongue_smilie:
kRenee
It's been a few years since I used level 1. Here is what I remember. Is the current Teachers Manual spiral bound? Yes. Is the TM divided into two separate books? Yes. Does the TM include reproducible practice sheets & test? Yes. If so, are they separate sheets or made into the book? In the spiral binding - you can easily copy. Can you purchase the practice sheets & tests separately? No. Did you find the TM helpful at this level? No, I had it but did not use it. angela in ohio
Everything KRenee said, except that I think the TM is essential, especially for the lower grades. All of the instruction and drill are in the TM.

TolleLegeAcademy
And the TM I have is not spiral bound. (It is in 2 separate books). Just wanted to let you know in case you are trying to match an older TM to a student workbook. I have not used the TM very much at all yet (though we are only on lesson 19 :) ). I did not buy it for K, but as I flipped through it for 1st, it had more information that I thought I might use (but maybe not. LOL)
crazymom4
I think they went to NOT doing spiral TM anymore....I also think they are essential for telling you what to drill and what to work on outside of the "worksheets"....they also give ideas along the way to help reniforce an idea....the one I remember is with fractions and construction paper...I do it all though....a little OCD...possibly...but I'm working on it...
