Mom-ninja.
Is it safe to allow my kids to accept friend requests on Pottermore? I'm extremely strict and protective when it comes to online usage and such. I want zero chance of them being exposed to inappropriate things and/or bullying from online "friends"
Mom-ninja.
Anyone? My kids keep getting friend requests.
thescrappyhomeschooler
I'm probably a little more lax than most parents, so I'd let them accept friend requests. I don't think there is much you can do with friends on there but challenge them to duels and send them gifts, is there?
Desert Rat
Yes. Pottermore is safe. I have an account and there is no place to put in any information. You don't even get to pick your own user name. It generates one for you. I don't remember even putting anything in other than maybe my name. Mom-ninja.
Is there a chat room type thing where one chats with friends?
Desert Rat
Is there a chat room type thing where one chats with friends? I really don't know. I dont' think so. You leave comments and other people can comment. You communicate that way. And because you don't even get to pick your own username, no one knows who you are except your friends. Maybe sign up for your own account and walk through it. That way you'd know the details. I actually found it kind of boring and I'm a huge HP fan. But, I'm not into on-line gaming so maybe that was it. I don't have a lot of friends on the game or anything. Maybe that makes it more fun. katilac
It's not possible to have "zero chance" of them being bullied or exposed to inappropriate stuff on an online forum. It's just like real life in that aspect :tongue_smilie: However, the Pottermore site is well monitored, and my kids have not had any problems.
