Chris in VA
She decided to stay in Colorado, WITH her parents, instead of moving for coaching somewhere else. She also turned down endorsements/money opportunities, so she could swim for her high school. I know parents make different choices; that's fine--I just find it refreshing and just admirable to see her make these choices.
Mona100
I just saw that. I think it takes guts to make that decision and it doesn't seem like it is hurting Missy at all. I am sure she will be swimming in Rio too.

sassenach
We really like her! Can you imagine swimming against an Olympic gold medalist at your high school swim meet? Talk about dead in the water!
Kelly1730
:iagree: It's so refreshing to see a young person who seems happy, enthusiastic and well grounded. I hope she continues to do well and be a wonderful role model for our youth. Way to go, parents of Missy!
In The Great White North
She also turned down endorsements/money opportunities, so she could swim for her high school. Not just for high school - for college.
