arcara
I would like to better educate myself on how to teach writing. We are following WWE and WWS in our home, but I would love something to help me help my kids how to be better writers across the curriculum. I would like to be able to give them suggestions on how to write a better history paragraph, for example. I really loved watching "Teaching the Classics" and I now feel empowered to have a good literature discussion with my kids. How can I become a good writing teacher? Thanks! arcara
If you liked "Teaching the Classics", check out Institute of Excellence in Writing I was tempted to get the TWSS videos, but they're just too expensive for a supplement, I'm afraid. I'm sure there are some good things in there for me, though!
PeterPan
You might find it helpful to get the books WTM recommends for high school writing and start reading them through now yourself. I assume you've listened to SWB's talk on writing K-12?

I assume you've listened to SWB's talk on writing K-12? No, I haven't. I guess I should do that, huh? Thanks for the tip! ETA: Will I really get more info on teaching writing by listening to these than I've already learned from reading TWTM and The Complete Writer textbook? Edited July 10, 2012 by arcara I had another thought :)

That looks like a really good source, too! I wonder how long it will be before the next Co-op??? :). I may have to ask for books about writing for my birthday this year!
