HollyDay
Oldest dd does not like to write. It is very difficult and time consuming for her. She does produce a decent end product, but it is not an easy or natural process for her. So, I need a book/curriculum/guide to prepare her for timed SAT writing. What does the Hive recommend??? HollyDay
IEW's High School Essay Intensive. I looked at this, but the $$ was a bit more than I hoped to pay.

Musicmom
We found the essay section in the McGraw-Hill SAT prep book very helpful. We also used the SAT Writing Workbook. One thing I'd suggest is when you start practicing entire essays, start without timing. Practice writing an essay in one sitting, but not timed. For the first 2 or 3, also go back the next day and revise it, looking for ways to improve/expand it (length is important.) With time, it should get easier and easier to produce a reasonably good essay on the first writing, and then you can start working on doing it under timed conditions. I did this with dd and it made a huge difference for her. HTH.
Kareni
Several past threads have been tagged 'SAT essay' and 'SAT essay prompts'; you might find some helpful information there. Regards, Kareni
