Jean in Newcastle
But it was such that you could just wash it off, is the orange safe to eat? There were a couple of genuinely moldy oranges in the bag which I disposed of.

Mommyof4ks
I would toss it, but several family memebers are allergic to mold.
Soror
I'd wash and peel. I've had that happen and it seems that it is just rubbed off from the other oranges and not the orange itself, of course assuming it isn't squishy, smelly etc.
Jean in Newcastle
Yes, it was just the dust from the moldy ones. I washed it (so that none would get on the knife I used to cut through the peel) and took off the peel. The inside looked just fine and was a good texture etc.
