My K'er uses C-Rods almost every day but the Base 10 set is vital when we do need it. I also have the blue starter set that comes with a cube and flats. Our units are yellow, our rods are green, our flats are blue and our cube is red. Oh, I found it on their site. This is the set I have. Crimson Wife Posted May 3, 2012 Share Posted May 3, 2012 It's a bit of an unusual place value manipulative, but I really like the Digi-Blocks set that my MIL gave me after she retired from teaching 3rd grade. Spy Car Posted May 3, 2012 Share Posted May 3, 2012 I would second getting a big set of Cuisenaire Rods and adding a set of base-10 "flats" (to give 100 values). I also like to combine base 10 blocks with Cuisenaire Rods and DecimalMods to demonstrate even more math concepts.
