TechWife
I thought some folks might appreciate knowing about this. It is in the catalog I received today. It's a year too late for us, but I hope others will be able to use it. Their pre-algebra program is great. I will cross post to the high school board. Crimson Wife
Ooh, I wonder if they will have a sample by the time they are at the Modesto HS conference at the end of July. We aren't going to be done with Pre-Algebra by then but it would be great to get a chance to look at it.

I just noticed this myself, thanks for starting the thread! My son is enjoying the Horizons pre-algebra this year. However I've already bought Jacobs for next year. I guess I should give him the option -- look at Jacobs, or the next level in what he's currently doing. I do like Horizons, but I sort of already got excited about Jacobs. (sheesh, you'd think *I* was taking algebra.) We're going to continue LOF as a supplement, doing pre-algebra with economics now, on to Beginning Algebra next year. I hope someone buys the Horizons algebra early and tells us how it looks....:D
missmoe
Thanks for the heads-up. I'm still trying to figure out algebra for next year.
Crimson Wife
Horizons is doing a pre-sale with the 15% discount and has a sample up at their site. It looks good, though it'll be a while before my DD is finished with the pre-algebra book.
chirowife
We are going to use pre algebra next year - our first time using Horizons. My daughter did not want to continue with teaching textbooks...
TechWife
Make sure you place her in the correct level of Horizons - it is very different than TT. Does AOP have a placement test for Horizons?
Crimson Wife
AOP does have a placement test, but you have to be a registered user of their site to access it. The Pre-Algebra book does a good job IMHO reviewing the 4 operations, decimals, fractions, etc. from earlier levels of math.
chirowife
It looks like she will have no problems with using Horizons Pre-Alg from TT7...
