diaperjoys
I'm ordering IOWA tests for our 1st and 2nd grade boys, and I'm wondering if I should order one for our K son as well. Our state doesn't require standardized testing until 1st grade - is there any reason to do the test in K?? What would ya'll recommend? Ellie
I wouldn't bother, unless your 5yo thinks it would be fun to do the same stuff as the sibs. :)
kristinannie
Our homeschool group suggested that we test this year (age 5) so that he would know what to expect next year when it is required. He just finished today. :001_smile:
kbpaulie
No, I'd suggest against it. IF you need to practice before an acutal test, do it next year a few months before req'd testing. Don't waste the money now or stress him out. And you need to do individual grade testing so it'll be more time on your part. My thoughts - wait. I did it every year, and I'm sorry I didn't follow the advice here and start at 8.
